Client Website Testing Support (UAT)

Website testing means different things to different people. We focus on website testing support services that do 2 things:

  • Affect the customer experience of your website*
  • Are a requirement for client sign off of web design development work

Why do we do this?

Well, we've all seen websites (some simple, some complex) that fail to meet the mark. These websites fail to deliver a user experience that the company's marketing department can be proud of.

Reasons that often make websites less than perfect:

  • A lack of customer analysis of the correct level of browser compatibility requirement.
  • An underestimation the level of resource (client and agency) needed to make great work.
  • An inability or unwillingness to take responsibility in technical scoping issues that becomes problematic later on in the website project.
  • Homepage look and feel takes priority over user experience or user journey considerations.
  • Time pressures to go-live prevent adequate website testing by all parties
  • Testing responsibilities are not defined between agency and client

Our job is to ensure the embarrassing phone call from the Managing Director who says - "It didn't work when my husband or wife viewed it!" doesn't happen on your website project.

Client Acceptance Testing (UAT) support

Getting a new or redesigned website live is always more work than we tend to imagine. A well considered website structure will cater for the 'interested first time visitor' as well as catering effectively for the 'returning information minor' or repeat customer. This means a multi-tiered navigation structure and volumes of content to produce, revise and perhaps migrate. In the case of a brand launch or rebrand, the marketing team have the website as just one of a number of activities to be completed. digitalAim's support can be invaluable in ensuring that the web experience output for launch is best of breed and meets all the requirements of the project scope in all relevant web browsers. The digital Aim testimonials page reflects this.

Browser Testing Support

The web browsers used by your customers are changing all the time. Since the meteoric success of the iPhone we have seen Apple Inc release their very fast Safari browser on the PC as well as Google offering Chrome as another real alternative to Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. Microsoft released IE8 in test (beta) form in 2010.

At the start of any web development a  list of compatible browsers should be defined & agreed before website scope sign off. Before go-live, these should be extensively and independently tested. You may ask why does this matter to me: A public sector website has a very large browser test list due to its legal obligations to disabled users and to universal access principles. Alternatively some FMCG brand sites make choose emerging rich media to engage their audience online (Sony's PS3 game consol launch is a good example) but that excluded a large percentage of users from their flagship web communication. Do you know now what compatibility level your corporate site has? Have you seen the test results?

 Interested?

For the reasons listed above we ensure our testing services are tailored to the specific client requirement. We are not techies by trade and this is not nitpicking. This is about supporting you and ensuring your customers don't say "I tried that but it doesn't work". Consumers never blame their PC, regardless of age, they blame the website. Your requirement may be driven by a lack of resource within the marketing team, by the level of in-house understanding and expertise, or by a need for increased repeat website traffic and online customer loyalty.

Whatever your testing concern, get in touch and we can discuss how best we can lighten your load or add shine to your offering through a high level prospective site / project review.
