Access for All

The framework of this site has been designed to be accessible for people with any degree of visual or motor impairment and users of screen readers. It’s built using CSS and all non-background based graphical elements are tagged with ALT text tags.

Visual impairment

It is possible to adjust the size of the text using your browser settings. We recommend Firefox version 3 for all partially sighted web users. Please see the instructions below for a variety of browsers:

How to adjust the text size in your browser:

Internet Explorer6/7:

Go to the 'View' tab in the toolbar, click 'Text Size' and choose the desired option.

Mozilla / Firefox:

Go to the 'View' tab in the toolbar, click 'Text Zoom' and choose the desired font size.

We recommend upgrading to Firefox 3 as increased text sizing maintains the integrity of the page design in this browser.

Safari:

Press 'command' and '+' to increase font size or choose 'View' and make the text bigger from the menu.

Navigation

A JavaScript dropdown navigation is used on this site. For any users who have difficulty with this, all pages of the site can be accessed from the site map page:

Access Keys are also show below:

Motor Impairment

We will soon provide a list of hot keys that can be used to navigate through the pages. Once in place use the hot keys, hold down 'alt' combined with the necessary hot key then press return:

Access Keys provide alternative navigation without using a mouse.

Please contact us if you have had difficulty using the site and would like to be contacted once the Hot Keys are in place.
